Music: Titan or Tease? (A Post!!!! OMG)
Yeah a post. I recently realized that of all the canvases in the world, I figure that music is not only the best, it is possibly the worst. The point of entertainment and arts is to project emotions and invite the audience into those emotions. Paintings, plays, even food, can all be effective medium, but no matter what music is the ultimate source for the emotional impact of art. I mean listening to music makes you feel anything you want, depending on what you listen to. You could listen to a soft love song and feel the romantic hopes of a love-struck teen or a hard rock song and feel the exuberant energy of a superior althelete. You can just find anything sort of music to fit any mood. Not only is the most accessable and largest of the art genres, but it's also the shortest (unless you're listening to Pink Floyd). Aside from painting, which take longer to produce and could probably be enjoyed in a shorter amount of time than music, music just zooms in, fills you with emotion, and is out before you can think to listen to it again. Leading me to the prospect that music could be the most heartbreaking of choices. In point-of-fact I went to a concert in August, Augustana to be exact. Was probably the best time I ever had.... ever. But during the concert the lead singer of the band sang a song called "Devil's Blue Eyes" it was the most emotional, impactfull song I've ever heard, and for the week after I couldn't think of anything else. And that could be very disappointing. I know in the world we have today not many things aren't accessible least of all music, but for some people who aren't technologically adept finding the music that get's stuck in your mind can be tough. That's another thing, music get's stuck in your mind. Do paintings ever do that? Do movies ever do that? Do plays ever do that? No, not really. Also, you can experience music over and over in a short period of time. Plays are hard to see more than a handfull of times, and movies take hours to watch just once, but music is a 3-6 minute gap of filling emotion that can be replayed and replayed over and over (if you have the ability). Also, I bet everyone could think of a lyric that really catches and holds their attention for some reason or another. Just one or two lines that trigger a memory or an emotion. I have several and it makes me want to listen to those songs over and over just for those lines. So I pose to you this dilemma, is music the end-all entertainment that sells more emotion and significance than it knows, or is it a wasted fleeting moment that brings an emotion impact too quickly to enjoy?

    That's all I got.

    lj cutdown
well I realize I dont really check lj much anymore, and I post even less. So to cut down on scrolling time I erased a lot of my friends list. If you got the cut and don't feel you deserve it go ahead and argue, but getting cut means I stopped reading your posts for lack of interest, and as evil as that is, it's the truth so don't take it to hard.

    a post?
yup. In honor of the day before PAX!

A lot has been happening in the month of August. The 2nd I left for a week to go Missouri, which was lame!!!!! that's all I really want to say about that. The 10th I went to the Augustana/Brady Sails concert and that rocked my mind (for a more in depth look check out my myspace it has the full story.) Then the next week my grandparent's left for Canada to visit relatives leave the house abandoned... it was glorious not having eighteen-billion small dogs under foot. I called over the dnd group and we went at it for a three day run... yeah you heard me three day run. It was more like two... but only cause complications arose. And now I'm preparing for the ultimate end all of Augusts Penny Arcade Expo '06!!!!

See you in the funny papers,
    Me!

    Shape up or ship out.
So I figure it's time to get off my lazy keister. Time to start jogging again and working out.

Friday night I did about 4 and a half miles and today I did close to 10. For those of you that care or even want to track my route, it starts at my house which is off 124th for those of you that don't know. I make my way through the back streets to Juanita beach and then past that to the bridge between here and downtown Kirkland. Their I just keep going back and forth. Each length is about 1/3 a mile. Today I did 30 lengths andnow I feel great. I'm thinking of going every other day because everyday doesn't give you time to heal and recouperate. Hopefully I'll have time after classes Tuesday to do atleast 6 miles.

P.S. I hate feel out of shape but I did today, which is probably what pushed me to do as much as I did.

P.P.S. I took off my shirt somewhere around mile 7 cause it was steamie outside and I got a whistle but I was listening to music so I didn't really know until afterwards so I didn't see who did it
